a desperate stretch
living through dark times
plants reach toward light

california spring
with a caressing breeze
drying up sadness

desert night jog
feeling all will be okay
while dark mountains lurk

look up at the moon,
just look at that autumn moon
nothing else to say

hemispheres apart
as the fall begins for me
a fresh spring for you

a barren ruin
a tsunami of emotion
swept through this body

white clouds like brains
while my head is in the clouds
lacking gray matter

night desolation
traffic lights, blinking slowly
me, eyes wide open

this autumn weather
synchronized with emotions
dreary but at ease
